Spring joystick

A lump of blue clay on a spring becomes a joystick, because the clay is recognized as a dot.

Bret: This is one of my favorite "crafted controllers" in Dynamicland. We're used to thinking of an input device as a box of electronics, but if the room is paying attention, a joystick can be a simple handicraft with a single-page 'device driver'.
