Well, as a matter of fact, I just prototyped an audio transcription cross-referencing interface (link):


It’s hideous, but I.M.H.O. it’s also sort of glorious in its own peculiar way.

Usage:
- click anywhere to scrub audio playback
- shift+click on a word to insert a wikipedia reference

One of things I find interesting about it, even in its current primitive state, is to be reading a wikipedia article while listening in the background, and being able to regain context in either pretty quickly. I think this is starting to address imperfect transcription results in an interesting direction.
