Subject: reading in context [11/4/14]
Attempt to see what it would be like to read a book, while surrounded by some representation of the whole of the book.  (Either all of the figures, or thumbnails of all of the pages themselves.)

These posters were hung on the library whiteboard, while I read the book on the couch, or in a chair near the whiteboard.

Hard to switch focus between book and poster of figures (and find your place).  A little better with thumbnail grid, but not great.  Would probably be better with highlight on poster, indicating which page the book is currently open to.

However, thumbnail grid turned out to be very useful later for "skimming through" the book to find a page that I vaguely remembered, and then flipping to it in the actual book to show someone.
