Subject: "the plan"
…is still to come, but I’m going to work tonight on a plan for laser-powering our space around the following 11 prototype applications. I will also document the usage of seatbelt that I am proposing. We may be able to consolidate some of the applications to run on the same computer, but even with Pull Down Technology we’ll still need more parts (computers, projectors, cameras). We currently have one Mac Mini hooked up to a kinect for Lenticular Cartography, one Mini in use for the Research Gallery label app, and I’ve started configuring a third Mini for the library. I know of one more Mini, but it has Windows installed so is of little utility to this project. I think we can make it to year-end with what we have, but by January will probably want more hardware.

Initial Prototype Ideas (these are taken from your whiteboard):

Spatial Reading Material
--------------------

Seeing Spaces Poster: poster -> imagemap -> video timing -> (highlight-projector & playback-projector & tablet)

Galleries for Browsing & Reading
--------------------

Research Gallery: email-backed research labels -> (highlight-projector & kiosk & tablet)

Chaim's Simulation Course: poster -> hyperlinks -> (highlight-projector & kiosk & tablet)

Representation Gallery: poster -> hyperlinks -> (highlight-projector & tablet)

Hyperopia: (research|conversation) -> receipt -> (highlight-projector & hyperlinks & receipts)

Maps of Terrain
--------------------

Mathematical Models: poster -> book page -> (highlight-projector & tablet)

TMNT Video Grid: poster -> video -> (highlight-projector & playback-projector & tablet)

Spaces for Reading in Context
--------------------

Pop-up Maxwell: printouts -> articles, links -> (highlight-projector & tablet)

Diorama Maxwell: hanging printouts -> articles, links -> (highlight-projector & tablet)

Library: books -> dynamic terrains -> pages, printouts -> (highlight-projector & playback-projector & tablet)

Meta
--------------------

The System Itself: schematic -> sourcecode & live usage (highlight-projector & tablet)

Each app is able to broadcast and serialize its own data types. However, the creation of a special, core, application allows for the abstraction of common tasks (eg. projector and camera alignment, image-maps) and the possibility for dynamic application swapping.
