Leafing through the thumbnail grids here at work, people come by and make various comments "What the heck are you up to now? What use is that?" After some joking, one of the producers looked at this shot, which was all blue screen shot outdoors and said, with genuine enthusiasm: "Hey! I know what that is! You can see the weather!" Because it was shot outdoors, the sunlight was constantly changing due to the shifting clouds in Vancouver. You can see that in the grid below in a way that you wouldn't be able to see with more traditional media views. It remained a novelty to the onlookers, but for me, it was proof that alternative visualizations hold a lot of promiseā¦
